SWOU is hosting a new Tech Tours event to give students more insight into possible majors and career paths in the areas of Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, and Engineering Physics.

Students can choose from the Hands-On Worskshops:

(Each student will choose a first and second choice to participate in)

Chemistry: Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of chemical synthesis by ynthesizing a unique metal complex containing Nickel or Copper and a macrocyclic ligand. The students will observe the color changes and the precipitation of the bright blue and purple metal complexes that for.

Computer Science: students will program a "choose your own adventure" game. Depending on time, we will briefly cover print statements, variables, data types, selections, loops, functions, refactoring, lists, and dictionaries.

Engineering Physics: a study of motion and projectiles in the Engineering Physics lab.

Engineering Technology: using 2D drafting software, students will design and then print a 3D product.

Graphic Design: students will use graphic designe software to create their own poster. GRAPHIC DESIGN IS FULL
